Need Help Thinking of a Preschool Lesson Plan?

Posted on February 16th, 2010 by admin

I’m in high school and I take a child development class where we teach the preschool class. I love it a lot, except I am horrible at coming up with lesson plans! For this week, I am in charge of teaching the letters Q and R. I was thinking about doing Quilt for Q, and Rabbit for R.

So I need lessons that could be in math, science, language arts, or art that have to do with either of these topics. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

in some areas there are stores dedicated to this. i now of one called 3Rs http://www.the3rs.com/
you might wanna check out the site or do a search for other learning/teaching supply companies.
They allow you to order teaching aid supplies, and even if you don’t want to order something they’re site might help give you visual aid ideas for this, sense it seems your on a bit of a time crunch.

There are many lesson plans online for the preschool age group. They are Theme related such as by holiday, animals. plants, insects, body parts, senses, etc. Some of these sites even have sample plans available at no cost. You can download for free some materials but the things that make the most impression with young children are the ones that have them actively involved. If you type in Preschool Lesson Plans in Google you will see many choices, look them over and see which ones will fit your schedule and your ability level. One site to check out is http://www.everythingpreschool.com it has a good variety of helpful ideas. Mostly have fun!

Well I am going to jump straight in with a proposed lesson plan for Q and R . If you choose quilt I would copy a big Q onto some card and write the word quilt… Go visit the local library and find a storybook featuring a childs quilt or something along a quilt theme. For a maths element photocopy a picture of the quilt [ from the story book you are reading] and make five copies then you can count the quilts when the story is over discussing the story you have read.
Exactly the same for rabbit…. Does this help ??
