What are some good ideas for lesson plans for one year olds?

Posted on March 26th, 2010 by admin

I know it sounds ridiculous (I feel that way too, seeing as how most of the time you can’t get them to stop biting each other or hitting lol) but, DHS here requires a developmentally appropriate lesson plan to be made each week. Art activities are simple, I need a basic theme(s). Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

Rolling balls to encourage visual tracking
Baby songs and massage
musical instruments
Touchy feely jelly/bean bowl
Nature box

What are some good topics for science lesson plans for 4th-6th graders.?

Posted on December 19th, 2009 by admin

I am doing a college project on creating 3 lesson plans on science topics for 4th-6th graders.

What areas in science do this students learn at those grade levels.

Does anyone have any ideas of science topics that students at those ages would enjoy; such as something I can be creative in.

Well in 6th grade you learn about the Earth’s surface, Matter and Energy, the earths atmosphere, and space…

How long does it take you to write lesson plans for the week?

Posted on December 6th, 2009 by admin

I’m a 10th grade history teacher, i hate lesson plans! It takes me a while to write them for the week… I was wondering how long it takes other teachers to write their weeks worth of lesson plans?

The first time you teach a new course, it is difficult because you need to read the content and write your lesson plans. The beauty is that if you keep them, you can simply pull them out the next time you teach the course and they are done (although you may want to tweak them depending upon what works or not).

In my first year of teaching high school, I would devote about one and a half to two hours a night for the next day’s lesson. I did good lessons, kept them in a binder, and simply pull them out when I teach that course. My second year was significantly easier because of this.

Remember, the time you put into your lessons will pay dividends for your students and your own self-confidence and will make your life easier in subsequent years.

I plan on teaching next year and have a question about lesson plans.?

Posted on November 8th, 2009 by admin

I am so excited about teaching and have many wonderful plans for my students. My only concern is how do you come up with so many lesson plans as a first year teacher? If I could just get this aspect of teaching I should be good to go. Not sure why this is making me so nervous. Thank you for any insight or advice.

Lesson planning was my most time-consuming task when I started teaching. So you’re smart to start thinking about where all of those plans will come from.

Certainly teachers teaching the same subject(s)/grade level you teach will be a valuable source. So making associations with similar teachers, regardless of the schools they work at, will be very valuable to you.

To start, identify the units you will be teaching. Plug the lessons you already have into those units. Then you’ll have a good idea of what you still need.

In addition to other teachers, your state’s education website and other lesson planning websites have excellent resources.

I’ve written up a list of the top 12 websites I’ve used for lesson planning. You’ll find reviews and links to them here:

http://www.squidoo.com/Lesson-planning

Many subject-matter websites for kids also have lesson plans and activities for teachers. There is an extensive listing on LearningReviews.com. The left-side menu guides you to the subject area, and to Teacher Tools, with many more lesson planning resources:

Good luck with your first year!

What’s a cheap gaming laptop that i can also use for lesson plans?

Posted on October 29th, 2009 by admin

I’m looking for a gaming laptop so i can play HALO 2, RYL and possibly WOW. It also needs to be able for my mom to do her lesson plans on shcool work site. We’re lookin for a good computer with a good price. If any of you know of such a "dream" laptop plz answer. It needs a graphics card and wat ever else i need to play those games.

You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn’t even had to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP(with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop.
