I’ve been wanting to play the guitar for a long time now but yet i havent found a website to help me out??

I want to learn how to play the electric guitar but taking lessons are too expensive, so could someone give me some suggestions, and could you recommend a good beginner electric guitar $250 or cheaper. Thank you your help would be appreciated.

If you want to learn guitar on your own, I’d suggest checking out a few YouTube videos to understand how to place your fingers. Once you learn how to maneuver the guitar, get chord charts and start practicing. I would just sit for hours practicing moving with my fingers to get used to it. Investing in a tuner will help you out a lot. I got one back when I was teaching myself; I still use it occasionally, but it definitely helped me develop an ear for tuning.

As far as affordable guitars there are plenty out there, but make sure you understand what you are looking for. I’ve attached some guides for starting out that go over what to look for in a starter guitar. That will help you out.

I have been waiting for a long time to learn how to play the guitar- the electric guitar specifically- so a couple of days ago I bought an esp electric guitar. I’ve been doing lots of research for online guitar lessons or books, audio or video tapes I can purchase, but all seemed either too simple or too complicated, when I say simple I mean for example 6 quick lessons teaching how to tune the guitar and 2 or 3 basic chords, when I say complicated I mean reading a dreaded book and trying to figure out how to play the guitar.

What I need:
Since I don’t know how to read music I know that I will phase lots of difficulties. So I need a guide that will teach me the basics then progress to teaching me chords, how to find chords, different tunings -besides the standard one- and perhaps even harmonics and progress from there.

To all the people out there who taught your selves how to play the guitar and have mastered it, it would be great if you could tell me what mediums you’ve used and if they worked or not.

Go to a local music store. They either have teachers there or sometimes have a board with business cards of local teachers. Get references.

Youtube doesnt have good tutorials.

if you type in on google free guitar lessons there will be some sites that will pop up and just check the sites to see which one you would like to try out.

If you can’t find a teacher near you, how about trying some online guitar lessons?

You can start with free lessons and then, when you have an idea of what style you want to perfect,
you can subscribe with a good online school.

When I was starting out, about 20 years ago, there was no internet and good instructional videos were very expensive. Today you have access to more than you possibly need at incredibly affordable rates.
